Description
Have you ever struggled to start a realistic painting and wondered how to begin? Ms. Littleton will demystify the process of how to select an appropriate image, a good composition, techniques to start the drawing, what to include & exclude, highlight and shadow considerations & how to approach details. Through discussion, exemplars and demonstration, Ms. Littleton will reveal steps she follows to create a detailed preliminary drawing that leads to a successful realistic painting.

Ms. Littleton will be available during the work period for questions and assistance.  Visuals for the exercises will be provided (emailed prior to the workshop for students to print out) or students can bring their own. If bringing your own image, it would be preferable to keep it simple by limiting how many colors are in your image.  An example would be a visual with three pears with a strong light source (you can Google this) or a cropped image of one piece of fruit.

All levels are welcomed and beginners are always encouraged.

Experience level
Beginner – Advanced.

Students will need drawing supplies including drawing paper, HB pencil, white plastic eraser, ruler, fine tip sharpie black pen, board with clips and/or masking or painters tape. If you have any questions, please contact us.
